To create a page in Confluence

  1. Navigate to the page in Confluence you would like serve as the parent page for your content.
  2. Select the Create button. A page editor interface will appear.
  3. Add a Title to your page.
  4. Add your content to the page.
  5. Add labels to describe the content of your page.

  6. When you have finished creating your content, select the Save  button.

Your page will now be available. You will be able to find your page:

  • In the navigation tree
  • In a child page list (Helpful macros)
  • By using the search bar at the top of the screen.
NOTE: If you create a page in a space that has a publishing workflow, your page will need to be approved by an editor before it is visible to all users.

To create a page in Confluence using a template

Confluence has many useful templates that will provide a useful frame for your content.


CLAS has created templates for content types regularly created by USMAI members, including:

  • Documentation
  • Report
  • USMAI Meeting Notes
  • FY YYYY Annual Report
  • FY YYYY Work Plan
  1. Navigate to the page in Confluence you would like serve as the parent page for your content.
  2. Select the Create from template button.




  3. Select the template from the list of available templates. You can also use the Filter search bar at the top of the window to narrow the list of available templates.
  4. Select the Create button.
  5. Add your page title, content, and labels.
  6. When you have finished creating your content, select the Save button.
